The Fidalgo Evenings Shawl is a perfect accessory — light and airy, yet warm enough to throw around your neck or shoulders as the cool of the evening settles in. Designed to use a single skein of our own hand-dyed Marine Silk Fingering yarn, this is a quick and fun pattern with a side-to-side construction, a simple stitch pattern, and a beaded edge to add a subtle bit of sparkle.
We have included two different versions: one with a narrow edge and one with a wider edge. The only difference in the knitting is the number of stitches you cast on. This slight change creates two surprisingly different shapes. The narrow edge makes for a shallower shawl with longer tails perfect for flinging around the shoulders. The wider edge makes for a deeper shawl with a shorter wingspan, perfect for holding closed at the shoulder with a beautiful brooch or shawl pin.
