Each May, our shop participates in the Western Washington Local Yarn Shop Tour. We develop both a crochet pattern and a knit pattern which are free to tourees during the tour. We also feature yarns that are called for in each project at a 10% discount. The Tour has lots of other great prizes and is another fun way to celebrate our craft and those of us who dearly love handwork.
This year, our Blossom Cozy crochet pattern featured Radiant DK (200g Superwash Merino). It sold out very quickly. The process to create this yarn is a bit tedious and includes knitting fabric on the knitting machine, dip-dyeing the fabric (really fun for Lori), drying, then unwinding the knit fabric into a large cake. Quite a process and quite worth it.
We’ve just seen our first garment created with this yarn and it was absolutely fantastic: Fran used the Radiant DK to make her Shoreline Cowl – also offered during the Tour.
So Emily and Fran are learning how to use the knitting machine and Lori is starting to dye up more Radiant DK. This yarn will be sold exclusively on our website and should be available in early July 2018 if not before.
