This is the first week in August; the northwest summer is going by so quickly! It has been a beautiful, dry summer and I am very busy at the dye pots. I have an outdoor dye studio at home where I do all the dyeing. I have three pots and work 5-6 hours each session. It is a lot of work: preparing the yarn, scouring, the actual dyeing, cooling, rinsing, spinning out the excess water, and finally, the drying.
These hot summer days, with a light breeze, are perfect for drying. I love the summer and so do our yarns.
