Year end is often a time of reflection for me. This was a very busy year, with a lot of risk, growth, and hard work. As I review and reflect, I thought you might be interested in some of the highlights…
The year began with a “Yes, and how in the world are we going to do this?” moment when we were invited to Madrona Winter Retreat with less than a weeks notice. We managed it and the following week debuted at Stitches WEST in Santa Clara, CA.
In the middle of this, I had scheduled remodel of the middle room to use for our groups and classes. The room turned out better than imagined.
Merging and moving Classic Style and Company with Fidalgo Artisan Yarn Company was next. I had scheduled this for the fall but it was very clear the sooner the better. We pulled it off in the first four days of April and opened with a big sale and smiles all around.
We showed at 7 events this year and did well at each of them.
We continued to build a solid customer base and were ‘discovered’ by the guest in town as a result of our move.
I dyed and we processed and labeled over 7000 beautiful skeins of luxury hand-dyed yarns. I am still excited and loving every moment at the dye pot. Best of all, I am still discovering new techniques as I experiment with color.
